   If a customer does not have off-peak credits, their normal credit balance will be charged.

Message Credit Usage by Transaction

One message credit entitles the customer to send one 160 GSM alphabet character message to one UK mobile phone.  For messages longer than 160 characters, the number of message credits charged depends on the length of the message. If your message goes beyond 160 characters, we charge one message credit for the next 146 characters and thereafter one message credit for subsequent blocks of 153 characters. (The reduction in characters are due to hidden control characters used to join the messages up on the receiving handset). Messages for international destinations are charged for at a rate that varies between 0.5 and 1.5 message credits per message. This reflects the variation in wholesale prices.
